Privacy Policy for Deenify Quran Chat

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Badzlan Bakar ("We," "Us," or "Our"), the developer of the "Deenify Quran Chat" app ("App"), handles your information. It explains what stays on your device, what is sent to third-party services to make the App work, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Handle

Stored on your device

We do not run our own servers and we do not keep a copy of your data. Your profile (name, optional age, country, gender, and your stated faith objective), your chat history, and your saved reflections are stored locally on your device using your device's standard app storage.

Sent to our AI provider when you use AI features

The App's chat companion, verse selection, and daily affirmations are powered by OpenAI. When you use these features, the following is transmitted to OpenAI's API in order to generate a response:

We deliberately do not send your middle or last name, your gender, your country, your exact age, your email address, or any device or advertising identifier to OpenAI. OpenAI processes this data to return a response to your request. Their handling of it is governed by OpenAI's own privacy policy and API data-usage terms.

Sent when you contact us or report content

If you use "Send feedback" in Settings, or report an AI reply using the "Report" control in chat, the message you write is delivered to our team's private Discord channel, along with your device platform (for example "Android"). A content report additionally includes the AI reply you are reporting, so that we can review it. Nothing else is attached, and these are only ever sent when you choose to send them.

Qur'an verse text

Verse text, translations and transliterations are fetched from the public AlQuran.cloud API (Islamic Network). These requests contain only the verse or search term being requested — no personal information about you.

Subscription data

Subscriptions are processed by Google Play and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated identifier for your installation together with your purchase and entitlement status, so the App can tell whether Deenify Pro is active. We never receive or store your name, address, card number, or any other financial details — those stay with Google Play.

Identifier

The App generates a random identifier for your installation to keep your data associated with you across the App's features. It is not linked to your Google account, your email, or any advertising identifier.

Analytics

The App does not currently include any analytics or advertising SDK, and we do not collect usage analytics.

3. Sensitive Information

Deenify is a faith app, and information you volunteer — in particular your stated faith objective and the content of your chats — may reveal your religious beliefs. Some laws, including the EU/UK GDPR, treat this as a special category of personal data.

This information is only ever provided by you, is optional, and is used solely to personalize the verses, affirmations and conversation shown to you. As described above, when you use the AI features it is transmitted to OpenAI for that purpose. You can edit or clear your faith objective at any time in Settings → Edit profile, and you can delete everything using Settings → Delete account. If you would prefer this information never leave your device, leave the objective field empty and avoid using the chat feature.

4. How We Use Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

5. Third Parties We Share With

We share data only with the service providers needed to operate the App, and only as described above:

6. Data Retention and Security

Because your profile, chats and saved reflections live on your device, they are retained until you delete them or uninstall the App, and their security also depends on your device's own security. Feedback and content reports you send are retained by us for as long as needed to investigate them. Data held by the third parties listed above is retained according to their own policies.

7. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You can delete all of your data at any time, directly in the App: Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, chat history, saved reflections and installation identifier from your device. Uninstalling the App also removes all locally stored data.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not hold your data on our own servers, most of these rights are exercised directly in the App. For anything else, or to request deletion of feedback you have sent us, contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.

Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. Manage or cancel it in the Google Play Subscription Center.

8. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy and will post changes on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Where changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you in the App.
